European Union Fund
KNKS is contracted by EU in amount € 449,950.00 to Implementation the Integrated Livelihood Enhancement and Non-formal Education (ILENFEP) project for 2 years (1st Jan 2010- 31st Dec 2011). It works in partnership with 4 NGOs partners in 150 villages of 60 communes and 16 districts in 5 provinces (Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Pursat, Prey Veng and Svay Rieng).
KNKS and its 4 NGOs partners collaborate with relevant government Departments and Non Governmental Organizations to improve the non formal education and livelihood of beneficiaries.
The Integrated Livelihood Enhancement and Non-formal Education (ILENFEP) Project is focus on non-formal education including vocational training with special attention to the most vulnerable children and youth who have dropped out from school, and those who for socio-economic reasons have never enrolled in formal education.
This project benefits to 1955 direct beneifciaries and 18,340 indirect beneficiaries with the specific Objectives are

To promote knowledge on awareness of the educate children, families and communities about a child’s right to an education, to the skills to earn a living, and to a safe, healthy and abuse-free home.

NGO Coalition to Address (Sexual) Exploitation of Children in Cambodia (COSECAM)
KNKS is contracted in total amount €58,000.00 (in year 2010 for €31,500.00 and in year 2009 in €26,500.00) by NGO Coalition to Address (Sexual) Exploitation of Children in Cambodia (COSECAM) to implement the promoting Social care for children project for 2 years (2009 – 2010).
This project focused on community based care and residental care that provide basic need, non formal education, reintegration and seed grant) for 215 children victims of trafficking, rapes, violence; and children at high risk of abandoned, live on the street children in Pursat province.
Specific Objectives
-
To provide quality care service in the safety centre that meet the emergency needs for 65 beneficiaries.

To provide vocational training and job placement to 30 target beneficiaries to which are responsive to the market demand.

To provide kinship care service to 65 children at risk in the target villages
-
To reintegrate the beneficiaries into their families and referral target beneficiaries to long term services.
KNKS works with the Proincial of Social Affair Veterants and Youth rehabilitation under a Memorandum of Understanding, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders such as Woman Affairs, Education, Health, Police, Justice, Commune and Community leaders (Commune Council for Women and Children, Village chiefs, community Education Committees, Community Animators) and relevant Non Governmental Organizations to protect the children rights and improve the education and livelihood for children victims and children at high risk. |

Stichting Kinderpostzegel Nederland (SKN) Fund
KNKS is funded by SKN in amount USD 9,850.00 through Health Net International (HNI) to implement Sustainable Community-Based Care for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) including children affected by HIV and AIDS Project for 12 months (1st January – 31st December 2010).
This project intends to focus on identifying alternative care for children who are not in the care of their parent(s) due to death, relinquish, poverty, neglect, HIV/AIDS and all kind of abuses. Support will be given to those children as well as alternative care providers to ensure that the child has appropriate care, accommodation, health care provision, psychosocial support, and education.
The alternative care placement is carried out in the best interest of the child and the main focus is to enable the child to remain in or return to the care of parents, or other close family members where family relationships can be continued and maintains the child within her culture and community, and avoids the anxieties related to placements with unfamiliar adults.
Overall Goal
To promote sustainable community based-care and support for orphans and vulnerable children, including children affected by HIV/AIDS in order to ensure wellbeing of children, and their rights to survival, protection, development, and participation.
Specific Objectives

Identify and support suitable community-based alternative care placement for children without parent due to death, abandonment, poverty, abuse, and other form of vulnerability.

To ensure that children under alternative care and children living in poor families have access to psychological support, food, education, health, protection, and development.

To contribute to national level implementation of the National Plan of Action, in particular strategy 4 (ensure that vulnerable children are protected through policy and legislation).

KNKS is funded by Farese Family Foundation through Give2Asia, a U.S. nonprofit organization in amount USD 5,000.00 to implement Non formal education project for 10 months (1st July 2010- 30th April 2011).
This project provides the technical support and school material to improve the basic education for 75 target children in 3 villages of 3 communes in 2 districts in Pursat province.
The specific Objectives

Build support for literacy among families and community leaders in 3 villages of commune district in Pursat province.

Enroll 75 children in 3 literacy classes for one school year

Encourage successful graduates to enroll in the nearest government school.

JONATHAN KEANES FAMILY AND INDIVIDUAL AUSTRALIAN STUDENTS
KNKS was donated by Jonathan Keanes Family and Individual Australian Students in amount USD 7,250.00 to implement the Community Non formal Education that included scholarship, and vocational training to vulnerable children for 9 months (Oct 2009 – June 2010).
This project provides basic education to 75 in 3 rural villages of 3 communes in 2 districts in Pursat province, and provided scholarship for 2 orphans (one female) to access state school in grade 3, and vocational training for other 2 orphans (female) at Private shops.

KNKS is funded by KOFA to fund in amount USD 10,000 to implement the Community Non formal education project in 7 target villages, in 4 communes of 2 districts in Pursat province. The project will start in 1st October 2010 – 31st July 2011).
This project provides basic education to 175 vulnerable children who never to school to access the community primary classes.

Korean Students Donation
KNKS also donated by Individual Korean students in amount USD 1,500.00 to implement the Non formal Education project (for community primary class). This project provides basic education to 25 vulnerable children in 1 rural village of 1 commune in 1 district in Pursat province.

In year 2008; Kumar Ney Kdey Sangkheum (KNKS) was funded in amount USD 11,237.74 by DED to implement the Good Governance Project in 10 villages: 5 villages in Kampung Lpeuv Commune and 5 villages in Tatok Commune, Samlot District, Battambang Province for 7 months (from 1st March - 31st August and November 2008). The project designed to improve social benefit for community people through the enhancement of good governance amongst community and commune leaders.
This project aims is to increase the social benefit to community people through strengthening the local authorities on good governance.
Specific Objectives
-
To build capacity on good governance to 36 village chiefs, 20 community development committees, and 6 commune council members in 10 villages of 2 communes.

To prepare the community and commune in 10 villages and 2 communes profile in order system (Village profile, statistic, Administrative documents, village profile, village annual planning and report etc.)

To raise awareness of social information update to 70% of community people in 10 villages of 2 communes and receive social through local authorities

To improve food security 40 vulnerable in especially difficult Circumstances in 10 villages at least 8 – 12 months per year through Agriculture Seed grant from Local Authorities.

On 01 February, 2009, Kumar Ney Kdey Sangkheum (KNKS) was Funded by DED to continue implementing the Good Governance Project in 10 villages: 5 villages in Kampung Lpeuv Commune and 5 villages in Tatok Commune, Samlot District, Battambang Province. The project was funded in USD 12,000.00 for 10 months (from 01st February – 30th November, 2009).
The project Aim is to enhance the law of land management awareness among community people through the good governance activities. It wants to achieve 36 Community – commune leaders in existing target areas to put in practice of good governance by providing good civil social services, and increase the social benefit with equity, transparency, and justice to community people, especially vulnerable families.
Specific Objectives
-
36 community and commune leaders in 10 villages of 2 communes put in practice of good governance
-
500 families in 10 villages are aware of community civil social services as certifications and law of land management
-
60 vulnerable families, especially women and children head of household in 10 villages have received the civil certification and the first land property registration
-
40% of 10 communities target area can be the good model of social services providers to community people.

AUSTRALIAN YOUTH AMBASSADORS FOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (AYAD)
KNKS received 2 Australian Youth Volunteers Mr. Jonathan Keanes and Ms. Nisha Srinivassan from AUSTRALIAN YOUTH AMBASSADORS FOR DEVELOPMENT (AYAD) PROGRAM for period 2 years ( One year per each volunteer)
Mr. Johan Keanes worked with KNKS Director, Income Generation Project Assistant to improve the Income Generation project for Vulnerbale children group who accomplished skill training and started business at Community villa restaurant (Services, and Product qaulity). He also assisted Director to do fund raising that included proposal writng to improve community restaurant and community non formal education.
Ms. Nisha Srinivassan worked with KNKS Director to improve Program Management that included Program startegies, reporting tand fund raising that included proposal writing.
KNKS hosts two volunteers from American Jewish World Service. Mrs.Susan Rothstein and Mr.John Koeppel, from San Francisco, California, work with KNKS Director and project staff to refine KNKS mission and vision, develop new marketing materials, update KNKS Annual Reports, and develop sustainable fundraising strategies that include proposal writing. Presnely, they still assist KNKS as Program Advisors.
June 2009 - July 2010
KNKS was funded by DED in amount $1200.00 to receive one young volunteer Mr. Hannes Schumarcher to assist the income generation project for the vulnerable children for 6 months and assist administrative for 6 months.

The KNKS Head office moves to new location. Community Villa Restaurant and Gift Shop (link to CV web page) opens at the new location: In Moan Che village, Sangkat Prey Nhy, Pursat town, along the National Road No. 5, It far 500 metres of the east of the bridge.
